Following dialogue with the CAA, I have learnt that the airspace above our launchsite has been re-classified as class 'C' controlled airspace. As a consequence of this we must obtain clearance to launch above 19,500 ft from the appropriate ATC Agency. As the authorised person I have contact names and numbers to seek permission to launch above 19,500 ft and also to exceed any NOTAM that is in place. I have furthermore set all NOTAMS at 10,000 ft as I feel this is adequate and if we wish to exceed this, I need to contact the ATC not later than 15 minutes before the launch. If for any reason I cannot make a meeting, no launch is to be allowed that breaches the NOTAM ..... Jim.
