| When the weather was good it was very, very good and some truly wonderful launching took place. When the weather was bad it was awful and we had to reluctantly cancel some meetings this year.Jim was devastated by the loss of the Intruder after 31 flights but it was replaced by a Matrix which Steve (having lost his second potential L1 rocket due to a motor failure) was given to build as a L1 project. Steve took his L1 and passed later in the year. Several members achieved UKRA Certification but after passing L1, written L2 but unfortunately failing his L2 flight, Sean had to return to the USA with his family due to health problems. Still considered part of the SWARM family, we hear promising news so far from them but they are missed. New members joined throughout the year, the 'Houses' & the 'Harleys' swelled our numbers & brought some amazing rockets to launch at our site. Again, the club made a visit to STARCHASER and Steve made us very welcome, always willing to take time to give some encouragement, guidance and advice. Rocket Boy, O'Dell has kept a fatherly eye on the club in particular Felix with continuing supportive messages coming regularly every month. Felix's health continued to deteriorate and she found it harder to get to meetings but Roy and Jim continue to work very hard for the club. |
Jim, Roy & Tony visited STARCHASER and Spotlight TV spent a day with the club. |
Tony was awarded the Homer Hickam Award for 2004. |
