great launches

Nigel began the year by doing some research on recovery patterns particularly the close recovery phenomenom at our site. Though a quieter year, it was a good year and there have been some brilliant launches particularly Rob and Pete's collection. The Pterodactyl had a successful test following repair and there were other significant tests made at the site ( also by visitor, Chris Bishop). Roy and Tony went to KLOB and Malcolm visited SWARM. Jim & I moved twice, lived in three of the four counties in SWARM's area but I know we were not the only members with life upheavals in 2006 (including Sean). Hopefully we can get back on track in 2007 though I know a couple of you have big changes coming up next year.I'm pleased to say that earlier website problems are now resolved and we have a new and better deal. I think the rest did me good and getting an Award from STARCHASER for the web - designs was a great encouragement. A big thankyou to them for their continued support. Roy won the O'DELL Altitude Award and for their fantastic input this year, Rob and Pete House won the HOMER HICKAM Award.

Of course, the highlight was 'ROCKET BOY' O'DELL coming over from America to visit the Club. A constant cource of inspiration and encouragement, he wanted to be 'just an ordinary SWARM member' or 'SWARMER' as he calls us. If he is, he is the 'Big Daddy' of SWARM !! Full of fun and highly entertaining, everyone who met him, including the STARCHASER personnel felt uplifted by his positive attitude to life. His favourite saying is 'the time to quit is NEVER !!' . He is already talking about returning next summer ! Can't wait !!!

The Christmas website proved a great 'hit' especially the quizzes and other puzzles. Jim did newspaper and BBC interviews at Christmas. Tony continues to work on his mysterious 'project' as do Jim, Nigel and Roy on theirs.
